About AI
The Computer Science Club at Mission San Jose is hosting a one day hands-on workshop to learn about Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML).
Students will come away with a comprehensive understanding of AI and ML. Students will get hands-on experience creating AI based chat bot as well experiment with fun AI applications.

Internet based applications will be used and no prior coding experience or prior knowledge of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning is required.

What is AI?

Artificial intelligence (AI) is intelligence demonstrated by machines, in contrast to the natural intelligence displayed by humans and other animals.

In computer science, AI research is defined as the study of "intelligent agents": any device that perceives its environment and takes actions that maximize its chance of successfully achieving its goals.

The term "artificial intelligence" is applied when a machine mimics "cognitive" functions that humans associate with other human minds, such as "learning" and "problem solving".[2]

AI based computers can successfully understand human speech, compete at the highest level in strategic game systems (such as chess and Go), autonomously driving cars, and intelligent routing in content delivery networks and military simulations.

Take Siri or Alexa—personal assistants that have already become the new normal for thousands of people around the globe. These and similar intelligent gadgets are able to recognize our speech (read: “understand what we want or need”), analyze the information they have access to, and provide an answer or solution.
What is remarkable (and a little scary) about such assistants is that they continuously learn about their users until the point at which they are able to accurately anticipate users’ needs.
